Course Description

This course will examine how social media affects the business world and, specifically, employers today. Through different analytical lenses, we will explore the pros and cons of social media usage in a professional setting. We will also focus on the positive and negative ramifications when employers use or attempt to regulate the use of social media. The course will examine social media in various contexts: recruiting and hiring, Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) concerns, employee monitoring, employee misconduct, and litigation considerations.

Various hypotheticals will support the course, providing an interactive session where listeners can actively participate in applying concepts to practical scenarios. This course is for employers of all sizes.
